Planning Department
2011 Redistricting Information

The U.S. Department of Justice approved Montgomery County's redistricting proposal based on the 2010 Census in a letter dated June 9, 2011. As a result, the County Registrar will be sending new voters cards to all affected registered voters advising them of the changes in voting district and/or precinct location in coming months.

The Board of Supervisors held a public hearing this past April to discuss the proposed redistricting of Montgomery County and gather citizen input on the proposed plan. An informal open house was also held prior to the public hearing to allow citizens to view proposed maps and ask questions concerning the proposal.  Maps of the approved 2011 districts and precincts are shown below.

Paper copies of the maps shown below are available for review at County Administration Office (Suite 2E) and Planning & GIS Services Office (Suite 2A) of the Montgomery County Government Center located at 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, VA 24073 and at all public libraries in Montgomery County.

Contact Steven Sandy, Planning Director, at 540-394-2148 or  sandysm@montgomerycountyva.gov if you should have any additional comments, questions, or need additional information concerning the redistricting plan.
