2011 General Reassessment of Real Estate

County reassessors are working in Blacksburg. Reassessors have visited 36,600 properties or about 94 percent of the nearly 38,000 parcels in Montgomery County. A video explaining the County's reassessment process may be viewed on this web page.

About the General Reassessment

Montgomery County is currently conducting its general reassessment that takes effect in 2011. The County has hired Wampler-Eanes Appraisal Group Ltd. to conduct its 2011 reassessment of property values.

Wampler-Eanes will send reassessment notices in the fall of 2010. The Reassessment Office may be contacted Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 381-6800. The new property assessments will be incorporated into real estate tax bills in 2011.

The real estate tax rate is 74 cents per $100 assessed value for 2010.
