2011 National Citizen Survey
|
Montgomery County participated in The National Citizen Survey (NCS) provided by National Research Center, Inc. The NCS provides a "statistically valid survey of resident opinions about community services provided by local government." The NCS created a survey including eight areas of focus: Community quality; environmental sustainability; community inclusiveness; community design; recreation and wellness; civic engagement; public safety and public trust. The survey was mailed randomly to 1,200 households in Montgomery County in 2011. The survey and its results are below.

- 2011 National Citizen Survey - this is a copy of the survey that was mailed to 1,200 Montgomery County citizens at random. This particular copy is blank for the purpose of example.
- Report of Geographic Subgroup Comparisons - this report shows the response from citizens based on what part of Montgomery County they live in. (i.e.: Blacksburg, Christiansburg or Unincorporated)
- Benchmark Report - this report compares the average rating for each question received by Montgomery County residents to a national benchmark set by other jurisdiction responses across the country.
- Open-ended Question Report - this report lists the responses to the open-ended question - If you could change one single thing about Montgomery County, what would it be? - on the NCS. Responses are divided into 11 categories.
