- The Mongomery County Commisioner of the Revenue's Office
provides a real estate assessment card search. This service allows users to access residential property record cards online as a free service. The data is maintained by the Commissioner's Office and is updated every weekday at 6:30 p.m. You may access the Real Estate Assessment Card Search Gateway here.
- How do I get a building permit and inspection?
- The Mongomery County Building Inspectors
perform inspections on all construction in the unincorporated areas of the County. Inspections
may be scheduled Monday through Friday by calling 382-5750. Due to the volume of work
all inspection requests must be made 36 hours prior to the day you would like the
inspection performed. Inspections are not performed on weekends.

- Where do I pay my County motor vehicle license fee?
- The Treasurer's Office in the
Montgomery County Government Center.
- When do I pay my County motor vehicle license fee?
- The motor vehicle license fee is added into the Personal Property bills of Montgomery County residents. Payments are due to the Treasurer's Office in the Montgomery County Government Center by Dec. 5 of each year.
- When do I need to purchase a dog tag?
- Dog tags go on sale
November 1st at the Treasurer's Office or
the Blacksburg Municipal Building. Dog tags are due by
January 31st of each year. Additional information, including fees and an order form,
can be found on the dog tag page.
- Where do I register to vote?
- You can register to vote at the Voter Registrar's Office in the Montgomery County Government Center.

positions that are currently being advertised.
A County application is required (download the
