
About the Commonwealth's Attorney
Commonwealth’s Attorney Patrick Jensen took office on August 1, 2026, following the retirement of Mary Pettitt. He is a candidate in the November election to continue serving as Commonwealth's Attorney. Jensen graduated from Virginia Tech and the University of Dayton School of Law, with honors. He has been with the office since 2007, and prior to that served as a prosecutor in the City of Roanoke and the City of Martinsville. He is a resident of Christiansburg.
