Meadow Creek Rd. Waterline Project

Beginning the week of Sept. 4, 2023, a company contracted by the Montgomery County Public Service Authority, E.C. Pace, will begin a significant water line installment project along Meadow Creek Road in Riner.

During construction, the road will be at one lane, with flaggers directing traffic. Plan for traffic delays during the project, which is anticipated to take up to 14 months.

Preliminary work on the project will begin with soil testing the week of Aug. 14. Once the water lines are installed, the service area will be connected to the NRV Regional Water Authority.

About Chloraminated Water

The Water Authority uses a method called chloramination to disinfect drinking water. Chloraminated water is perfectly safe for drinking, cooking, bathing, and other daily uses.

Impact on aquariums, aquatic life

Chloramines can also be harmful to aquatic life. Chloramines require a change in the way water is dechlorinated for aquariums and ponds. Fish enthusiasts will need to dechlorinate water before using it for fish tanks, outdoor ponds, and other aquatic life.
