8/8/2018 - Montgomery County Circuit Court Clerk Erica W. Conner Achieves Master Certification

Circuit Court Clerk for Montgomery County, Erica W. Conner, becomes one of only 20 out of 120 Clerks in the Commonwealth to complete the Certified Court Manager program through the Institute of Court Management at the National Center for State Courts, on July 27, 2018.

"It is important in leading an office in our progressive and diverse community to provide exceptional customer service to the public, adhere to current statutes, but also listen to the needs of the ever-changing judiciary and community while following the proven national standards taught in the Certified Court Manager program, as we lead our court into the future," Conner explained.

Giving Clerks the tools to address today’s challenges in the courts, this intensive program highlights topics such as court performance, budget and fiscal management, project management for courts, leadership, technology initiatives and vision planning.  The six collegiate-level courses include 120 hours of instruction.

Participants must prove competency in each course by writing, critical thinking, project planning, and instructing. Along with this educational professional development, this certification allows Conner to bring the title of Master Circuit Court Clerk in serving Montgomery County.

"While living in an age of vast information, continuing education is very valuable as we strive for a better tomorrow. My hope is that we never stop learning and serving our community by looking for opportunities through education, implementing technologies to better serve the public, and managing and preserving our rich historical information contained in the Clerk’s office," said Conner.
