Montgomery Regional Solid Waste Authority Announces Updated Fees, Services

The Montgomery Regional Solid Waste Authority's Board of Directors announces new rates and recycling services, effective July 1, 2020.

While some recycling services are being discontinued at this time, the following recycling services will continue:
  • Tire disposal (Wednesdays 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.)
  • Single Stream Recycling
  • Clean brush, wood, and pallets
  • Metals Payback Program (includes white goods/appliances)
  • Cardboard Payback Program
  • Construction waste
  • Industrial waste
  • Household waste
  • Commercial/Business waste
  • Sludge
  • Leaves
  • Mulch for sale.
The following items will continue to be accepted by the Montgomery Regional Solid Waste Authority; however, recycling of these items is discontinued as of July 1:
  • Shredded paper recycling 
  • Hardbound/softbound book recycling 
  • Household hazardous waste disposal
  • Electric waste disposal 
  • Universal waste disposal

In addition to the change in recycling services, the following fee changes are in effect as of July 1:
  • Municipal solid waste processing fee: $57/ton;
  • Single stream recycling fee: $59.50/ton; and
  • Single stream recycling fee from rejected load: $64.50/ton.
