Montgomery County All-Star Team Wins Babe Ruth League (12U Division) State Championship ​

Since 2012, Montgomery County has won four overall state titles.


2021 Montgomery County All-Start Team - 12U State Champs, Babe Ruth LeagueIn July, the Montgomery County All-Star Team won the Babe Ruth League (12U Division) State Championship. The team is comprised of 10 players, three coaches, and one manager.

The team secured their place in the state championship games during the district tournament that was held June 21-23 at the Motor Mile Park in Christiansburg, Va. In early July, the team headed to Veterans Memorial Fields in Shenandoah, Va., to play in the state tournament.

The team is comprised of Macie Akers, Sammie Brein, Johnnie Gaynor, Makaylee Gaynor, Isabella Perkins, Kaylee Ramrattan, Katie Salyer, Reagan Smith, Faith Wilson, and Hope Wilson – all of whom have been playing together since 2018. In 2018 and 2019, they were runners-up in the state tournament. The coaches who led the team to victory included Mark Akers, Rob Brein, and Chris Ramrattan. The team was managed by Brain Wilson.

In addition to winning the state championship, Montgomery County also claimed the Don Rose Memorial State Commissioner’s Sportsmanship Team Award and Faith Wilson was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) during the tournament.
