Eastern Montgomery Park

Eastern Montgomery Park is tucked away on the South Fork of the Roanoke River. Enjoy pleasant mountain views during your visit. Amenities include a playground, picnic shelter, volleyball net, open green space, a trail along the river, and an airfield
for the Montgomery County Model Airplane Club. A canoe and kayak launch is also available, which begins the Roanoke River Blueway that
travels 45 miles and culminates at Smith Mountain Lake in Bedford County. Additionally, the annual
Great Road Encampment is held at the park in August.

Visitor parking is located on the left when entering from Enterprise Road. Parking spaces at the Elliston Fire Station are reserved for volunteer firefighters and others with business at the station.

The playground features a “rock-climbing” section, slide, tic-tac-toe board, and climbing areas. A bench is also provided. This play area is located between open green space, the picnic shelter, and the walking trail.

The open green space is a perfect place for children to play tag, or to enjoy a game using the available volleyball net. Dogs love Eastern Montgomery Park as well!

Get together for a picnic or party under our shelter! An ADA accessible path leads from the parking lot to the shelter and the playground. There is seating available for approximately 100 people across 13 tables, including two handicap accessible tables.
Other amenities include one large and one small grill, electrical outlets, waste receptacles, and restroom access at the Elliston Fire Station.
