Basketball
Updates
We need football referees, basketball referees, and baseball/softball umpires! We pay $50 per football game, $25 per coach pitch game, $50 per kid pitch game, and $40 per basketball game. Call (540) 382-6975 or email mcpr@montgomerycountyva.gov if interested.
How to Register
Your child must play with the recreation department where they attend school.
Uniforms
We do not have sample uniform sizes. Please pick the best size based on what your child currently wears. We offer the following sizes:
- Youth: Small (6-8), Medium (10-12), Large (14-16)
- Adult: Small, Medium, Large, XL, 2XL
Your coach will be in contact with you several weeks after the registration deadline. If you register online, please ensure your email address, phone number, and mailing address are up to date.
Season Information
- Registration begins early October
- Season runs from late November through February
- Coaches will contact participants with practice information mid-to late November
- Practices begin after Thanksgiving break (held Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, or Sat)
- Practice schedules are dependent on your coach's availability and the Montgomery County Public School availability. We will not have exact dates and times until coaches are assigned after the registration deadline.
- Games begin after winter break (held Saturday mornings with occasional Monday and Friday evenings)
League Information
Basketball emphasizes fundamental skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive adult participation with the goal of providing a fun and rewarding experience.
Montgomery County Parks and Recreation offers basketball for the Auburn, Eastern Montgomery, and Prices Fork school districts.
Leagues:
- Mite (Grades 2-3)
- Junior (Grades 4-5)
- Senior (Grades 6-7, no 14 year-olds, no 8th graders even if they meet the age cut off)
