5/13/2014 - Clerk's office launches online marriage application
Circuit Court Clerk Erica Williams is pleased to announce the debut of a secure online marriage application. Citizens who are applying for a marriage license can expedite their visit to the courthouse by visiting  http://www.montgomerymarriagesva.org and completing and submitting the application electronically. This process is very similar to the marriage license kiosk that Williams instituted in 2014, where applicants apply at a kiosk in the office, eliminating paperwork and decreasing staff time to process and issue the license. Applicants can submit their application for marriage licenses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and then present proper ID to a deputy clerk in her office, during normal business hours.

Williams states, “In an ever technological advancing world, I am pleased to offer this service to the Citizens of Montgomery County at no additional cost to taxpayers.” Williams also stated that she is continually on the lookout for ways to improve customer service, cost reduction to the county and state by implementing the use of technology in her office.

Citizens are offered this as an additional resource for submitting their marriage license application and are not required to submit their application online.
