exempt
eligible for agreements in lieu of plans
require formal Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) plans and/or Stormwater Management (SWM) plans, depending on the area of disturbance and the relationship of the project to a Common Plan of Development.

Virginia Stormwater Management Program (VSMP) regulation states that "common plan of development or sale" means a contiguous area where separate and distinct construction activities may be taking place at different times on different schedules. (9VAC25-870-10)

Single Family Detached Residential Construction

After approval from County Planning & GIS, request a screening form from Building and Inspections. The screening form and other information will be reviewed and the applicant will be notified of the required permitting.

Non-Residential Construction

The Administrative Guidance Manual provides guidance, outlines the plan review process, and provides checklists and documents related to land disturbance permitting.

A comprehensive Application Form and Checklist shall be submitted. Using the checklists assists in providing a complete submittal.
