Board of Supervisors Approves Ordinance Waiving Penalty and Interest on June 5 Real Estate Tax Payments for 90 Days

2020A Real Estate Taxes Are Due June 5, 2020

In response to the current economic conditions due to the existing public health situation resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors approved an ordinance on May 11, 2020, to waive penalty and interest for 90 days on the 2020A real estate taxes due on June 5, 2020, for those taxpayers experiencing financial hardship.

The ordinance will be effective through September 3, 2020. A 10 percent penalty will be charged on 2020A real estate if not paid by September 3, 2020. Interest will be charged at the rate of 10 percent per annum beginning October 1, 2020.

Tax payments can be made by mail, at a dropbox located at the Chinquapin Trail entrance of the Montgomery County Government Center or online. Learn more at https://www.montva.com/treasurer/payment-options.
