Montgomery County is working with stakeholders and community members to update its comprehensive community plan, Montgomery Matters. The new plan will shape county policies and guide local decision-making on land use regulations, economic development efforts, housing policies, environmental protection, community services, and most local government decisions over the next 20 years.
You’re invited to a community open house, which features several interactive displays, on June 13, at 5 p.m. We hope you will join us to learn more about and discuss various important issues that impact and matter daily in the lives of residents, businesses and visitors.

The process will also produce plans for Montgomery County’s various villages, which are part of the overall Montgomery Matters comprehensive plan. Each individual plan will include a vision for the village communities and more detailed recommendations for strengthening them.
The June 13 open house is the first of multiple community engagement events that will continue through 2025 to include community meetings, surveys, stakeholder discussions and interviews in an effort to gain valued feedback from citizens. The project timeline will span approximately 24 months, starting in early 2024.
