Pursuant to the provisions of Section 15.2-2204 & 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on June 22, 2026 at 7:15 p.m. in the County Government Center, 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, Virginia, in order to hear citizen comments regarding the Board’s intention to act on the following Ordinance:
An Ordinance Adopting, Pursuant to Va. Code Section 15.2-2223, Part 5 of The “Montgomery Matters” Comprehensive Plan, Which Includes The Future Land Use Map And Village Plans For The County Of Montgomery, Virginia. The Future Land Use Map Establishes a Long-Range Framework To Guide Growth, Development, Capital Improvements, and Other Land Use Decisions Within Montgomery County Over The Next Twenty Years. The Village Plans For Elliston-Lafayette, Prices Fork, Riner, And Shawsville Include Goals, Objectives, and Implementation Strategies Addressing, But Not Limited To, The Following Areas: Land Use, Environmental Resources, Recreation, Historic and Cultural Preservation, Economic Development, Housing, Transportation, Health and Wellness, Public Infrastructure, And Public Safety and Welfare. The Future Land Use Map and Village Plans Replace, Upon Adoption, The Current Future Land Use Map and Village Plans Contained Within, “Montgomery County 2025,” Previously Adopted By The Board of Supervisors On October 12, 2004, And Subsequently Updated In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2022, And 2025.
