Sherri Blevins was selected as Chair, and Mary Biggs was selected as the Vice Chair.
On Jan. 9, 2023, which marked their first meeting of the year, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors selected who would serve as Chair and Vice Chair for the year.
Sherri Blevins was selected as Chair, and Mary Biggs was selected as the Vice Chair.
This is the second consecutive year in the history of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors where two women were selected to serve as Chair and Vice Chair at the same time. In 2022, both Sherri and Mary also served as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively.
Chair Blevins was elected to represent District B in 2019.Through her role as Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors, she also serves as a member on the AFD Advisory Board, Fairview District Home Board, and Road Viewers Board. In addition, she is the Board liaison to the Chamber of Commerce, Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library Board, and Montgomery County Public School Board. Chair Blevins also serves as an alternate for the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the Montgomery Regional Economic Development Commission.
Vice Chair Biggs was initially elected represent District F in 1996. Through her role as Vice Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors she is also a member of the Community Services Board, MBC Development Corporation, Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), New River/Mt. Rogers Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Consortium Board, Road Viewers Board, Virginia’s First Regional Industrial Facility Authority, Virginia Tech/Montgomery Regional Airport Authority, and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity (WIOA) Act Consortium Board. Vice Chair Biggs is also the Secretary/Treasurer for the Public Service Authority. In addition, she serves as Montgomery County's Legislative Liaison, a liaison to the Montgomery County Public School Board, and serves as an alternate representative for the Chamber of Commerce Liaison and the Western Virginia Regional Jail.
