On Monday, Oct. 30, a retirement reception was held for Craig Meadows, County Administrator for Montgomery County from Aug. 2009 through Oct. 2023.
As Montgomery County Administrator for the past 14 years, Meadows has led Montgomery County through significant growth and even a few tragic events with grace and strength. He has facilitated over 20 new construction and renovation projects in our community to address education, public safety, recreation and key infrastructure needs. He also continues to focus on economic development and growing and expanding existing businesses in our community.
While the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors Chair Sherri Blevins was unable to attend the reception, she shared these words, "Congratulations Craig! Thank you for your exceptional leadership, integrity and service to Montgomery County and the region."
"The many successes of Montgomery County including its strong economic stability with investments in the Falling Branch Corporate Park; historic capital improvement projects such as the construction of four new schools and the renovations of six existing schools, the establishment of the Animal Care and Adoption Center, and Riner Park; the creation of the Montgomery County Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the implementation of bringing both universal broadband, and passenger rail to Montgomery and so much more serve as a testament to your commitment and love for Montgomery," said Blevins.
In addition the
resolution passed by the Board of Supervisors, the County gifted Meadows with a bench that will be placed in front of the Montgomery County Government Center.
On June 12, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors
appointed Angela Hill, the current Deputy County Administrator and CFO, as County Administrator, effective Nov. 1, 2023.
