Volunteer Montgomery Bake Sale – Our bake sale was held on Wednesday, October 15. It was a huge success! Thank you to our volunteers, bakers, and community for making this event happen. All proceeds raised goes back to Volunteer Montgomery to help with in-house events and scholarships.
Flowers for Veterans – On Monday, November 10, volunteers will deliver flower arrangements to Veterans who reside in local nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout Montgomery County.  We plan to honor those who have protected our freedom in recognition of Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11.  If you would like to sponsor a Veteran at a local nursing home, the cost of each arrangement is $5. Gate’s Florist in Christiansburg is making the flowers available. 
Volunteers are needed to help us assemble the arrangements at the Volunteer Montgomery office on Monday, November 10 at 10 am and to help with delivery on the same day between 2-4 pm.  Call the office for more details. Many thanks to our volunteers who have donated vases and to the MCEAP Thrift Store and More for sending donations throughout the year!
Zeppoli's Restaurant Benefit Night- We are partnering with Zeppoli's Restaurant on Tuesday, November 11 from 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. for their Benefit Night. A percentage of the proceeds made during this time will go back to Volunteer Montgomery. Come join us & eat some good food!
Falling Branch Elementary School Monthly Supply drive- For the month of October, we will be collection donations for Falling Branch Elementary School. Items needed are boys' and girls' clothing sizes 6-10, Men's small and medium clothes, and kids' shoes. Donations can be dropped off at the Volunteer Montgomery Office Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Women's Resource Center Supply Collection Drive Results – Thank you for supporting our September collection drive for the NRV Women's Resource Center by donating 373 items from our list of needs to support their mission. Our gratitude goes to Sharon Brown, Carol Walters, Mary Rose Adams, Shirley Mullins, Jolene Rawlings, Shirley Thurston, Rosemary Jones, Laura Eanes, Brenda Arnold, Sandra Johnston, Deb Hawke Spencer, Alpha Chi Omega and Delta Epsilon Mu at VT, and any others we may have missed during drop off for your generous donations! 
Volunteer Montgomery Mural - Calling All Volunteers! – Volunteer Montgomery has approval for a mural in our activity room. Our theme is Connecting Through Volunteerism, and we are looking for artists to send proposals for the mural. Please send your art proposal to volunteermontgomery@montgomerycountyva.gov. Our team will choose 3 designs. After approval from the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors, we will ask the 3 selected artists to volunteer to paint the mural. We look forward to seeing your designs!
Center for The Arts at Virginia Tech – Volunteers are needed for the Student Matinees to assist with group check-in, ushering buses into the bus drop-off loop, notating the number of family groups in attendance, and greeting with a smile. Volunteers must be 18 or older to volunteer with Center For The Arts. Shifts are either 9-10:15 a.m. or 9-11:15 a.m. The following shows/dates are in need of volunteers:

Project Linus Update –We are now an official Project Linus drop-off site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Please be sure to leave your name and address with your blankets so we know who to credit and to thank!
