Volunteer Montgomery Bake Sale – Many of you will receive a call from one of our volunteers requesting baked goods. To expedite the process, please contact us by phone or at volunteermontgomery@montgomerycountyva.gov if you would like to donate non-perishable baked goods. Please bring your baked goods to the Volunteer Montgomery office on Tuesday, Oct. 14, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and noon.
Patriot Day Service Project – Volunteer Montgomery will send baskets filled with baked goods and prepackaged snacks to all emergency service agencies in Montgomery County. We need your help! Volunteers are needed to purchase snacks or bake cookies, brownies, etc. Please bring prepackaged snacks and baked goods to our office by Tuesday, Sept. 9. Volunteers are also needed to pack baskets on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. and help with delivery on Thursday, Sept. 11. Please email us at volunteermontgomery@montgomerycounty.gov or call the office if you would like to help us show appreciation to our local heroes on Patriot Day.
DSS School Supplies Collection Drive Results – Thank you for supporting Montgomery County DSS clients by donating 166 items from our list of needs to support their mission. Our gratitude goes to Sharon Brown, Jill Songer, Rosemary Jones, Mary Rose Adams, Shirley Mullins, Shirley Thurston, Brenda Arnold, Sandra Johnston, Jolene Rawlings, and any others we may have missed during drop off for your generous donations!
Volunteer Montgomery Mural - Calling All Volunteers! – Volunteer Montgomery has approval for a mural in our activity room. Our theme is Connecting Through Volunteerism, and we are looking for artists to send proposals for the mural. Please send your art proposal to volunteermontgomery@montgomerycountyva.gov. Our team will choose 3 designs. After approval from the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors, we will ask the 3 selected artists to volunteer to paint the mural. We look forward to seeing your designs!
Center for The Arts at Virginia Tech – Volunteers are needed for the Student Matinees to assist with group check-in, ushering buses into the bus drop-off loop, notating the number of family groups in attendance, and greeting with a smile. Volunteers must be 18 or older to volunteer with Center For The Arts. Shifts are either 9-10:15 a.m. or 9-11:15 a.m. The following shows/dates are in need of volunteers:
