Subdivisions & Plats
The subdivision of property, including the creation of new lots and adjustment of boundary lines, is regulated by the Montgomery County Subdivision Ordinance. Individuals who wish to create new lots or adjust property boundaries of existing lots within Montgomery County must obtain a survey plat produced by a Licensed Surveyor.
Subdivision of land creating 10 or fewer lots are categorized as Minor Subdivisions, and are reviewed administratively by County staff. Boundary line adjustments and Family Subdivisions are also reviewed administratively.
Subdivision of land creating 11 or more lots are categorized as Major Subdivisions, and require the review of the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors.
