Background
Transportation needs within Montgomery County continue to grow as the County and Towns of Blacksburg and Christiansburg see increased economic and population growth. In an effort to better plan for anticipated growth in the County, an effort was launched in 2021 to create a master transportation plan to guide development efforts. The proposed master plan aimed to provide a prioritization of projects, identify funding sources, and integrate multi-modal transportation strategies to guide the County's planning efforts.
