the Commissioner

Commissioner of the Revenue Helen Royal was elected in 2011 and her term began Jan. 1, 2012. She is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and has worked in the office for 20 years. The Commissioner is elected locally every four years
and is the chief assessing office of the County.
Helen Royal's mission is to introduce web-based technology that allows residents to interact with the Commissioner of the Revenue's office, cross-train all employees for better customer
service, assess all real estate and personal property equitably and encourage input from taxpayers.
